Weathervanes is about orientation: not necessarily toward perfection, but toward the sounds, colors, and memories that have always pointed the way back home.
Named after a lyric from Panic! at the Disco, this work channels the emotional charge of the music that shaped the artist’s inner world. The florals burst forward in thick acrylics – familiar forms that allude to some of the artists' earlier works, but now with more confidence, more texture; a freer hand.
This piece signals a return to something known, but not repeated. A revisiting, made bolder through growth.
In weathervanes, the artist relishes in layering glittering circles, dreamy pastels, and saturated greens with ease. The floating orbs echo with sound, like visual traces of the music still playing beneath the surface.
In the layered chaos, there’s a quiet clarity: a recognition that the artist is no longer painting to prove something, but to reconnect.
