Albe B Lebnen

acrylic on canvas · 2024

60 × 80 cm

albe b lebnen is a one-of-a-kind work painted over a vibrant beach-umbrella artwork the artist discovered on the streets of Barcelona. Fragments of the original composition remain visible beneath the surface, lending the piece a layered history and an unassuming sense of place. Its vivid palette evokes the experience of growing up in Lebanon, surrounded by a culture defined by joy, community and generous hospitality. These memories unfold through a fantastical, deconstructed vision of the country, where the iconic Raouche rocks meet the tranquil ponds of Laqlouq and traditional red-roofed homes rise among the mountain villages. Surreal and deeply personal, Albe b Lebnen brings together the landscapes, architecture and colours that shaped the artist’s childhood. The result is a luminous visual tribute to Lebanon, not simply as a place, but as an enduring feeling of home. This work has been featured in the 2026 exhibition 'Home Away from Home' and showcased amongst other works by the artist in Barcelona, Spain.
